laughter yoga

Learn how to use laughter - the great healer - with yogic breathing exercises – to help depression, significantly reduce stress and lower blood pressure, even asthma and allergies.

Started by Dr Madan Kataria in 1995 after researching the medical benefits of laughter. Dr Kataria gathered a group of patients and friends in his local park every week to tell jokes.

When the jokes had all been told, he developed a series of laughter exercises, taking in principles of yoga (his wife is a yoga teacher) to help people find good health and well-being through laughing. Just 5 people in India joined him in 1995 – and today there are over 6000 laughter clubs worldwide.

Used in schools, the police force, the corporate world, old people’s homes, laughter yoga is simple to learn and beneficial to all.
